Ify has always been fascinated with the tactile nature and texture of fabric. She has a great love for the African wax print, Ankara, and an eye for exquisite detail.

With a passion for color, Ify's work has naturally evolved into mixed media. She combines Ankara with other sumptuous fabrics of different textures, like taffeta, silk satins and intricate embellishments, giving her art a depth and texture that other media can only dream of.

Ify's inspiration for her "Haute Couture" series is drawn from the hard working, modern Nigerian woman, who can show up at any occasion with a moment's notice looking effortlessly glamorous.

Ify also infuses Ankara and other Nigerian fabrics with Gouache in her mixed media paintings. The technique of stencil-like cut outs must be carefully observed to appreciate the fine craftsmanship of each painting.
